Italy are not redeemed only 2-0 vs Moldova is not what they needed what they really needed was a 5 or 6-0 win. Realistically I think Italys only hope of first place in the group is Norway dropping points vs Estonia and Israel that could very well happen because Norway were extremely lucky yesterday. ,but even if Italy were to get help from these two teams they still need to do their part of the job.

Italy has talent but it needs a CT that can develop these guys into a TEAM and promote an attacking mentality. Second, we need some players that have good individual skills to step up and use them. And last, the CT needs TIME go get them to work together, to synchronize and speed up the team. That is how you win championships. There are other methods, but this is one of the best to get it together. I hope Capello takes the job.

I may be in the minority here, but I believe big football nations not being at the Euros or World Cups actually devalue tournaments. They should not have to qualify.

It is in Italy's best interest's NOT to qualify. For this Italian team to be in the 2026 World Cup and be smashed 4-0 or 5-0 in the first round group games would be very embarrassing. Imagine a game against Argentina or Holland !😮. The current crop of Italian players are not only very poor quality footballers, but also lack motivation and creativity. When they run out onto the field they give the inpression that they do NOT want to be there !😮😮
Without Italy the world cup is so much less interesting
I am sure even all of europe wants italy to qualify which gives their continent more of a chance to win the world cup. Same thing goes with South America. Even though Argentina are fierce competitive rivals to Brazil along with other countries in their region those countries would still want the best of the best including Brazil representing their continent and federation at the world cup.

Let's give a big round of applause for Moldova for putting up a good fight. They had more goal opportunities then any of us expected. Small football nation, but they been growing massively. Coming from an Italy fan.
