Can someone for the love of God explain to me how Alexi Lalas has a job? 😂 he is the worst and most ignorant analyst in the world. The man doesn’t deserve to be on same stage like a Schmeichel and a Chiellini. It’s embarrassing and it shows that this guy has someone in the board room who is related to him or something. People criticizing Italy don't understand they played tactical defensive football after they went up. People don't understand Spaletti or football. They weren't trying to score after they got the lead.
Spaletti preaches ball control, accurate passing, high-level intense quick passing, and massive possession. They were just trying to preserve the lead, which they did.
I'm not trying to be insulting by any means, but you don't need to go out and unalive an opponent like Albania. Against Spain, England, Germany…yes..you do need to do that.
Yes, Albania played their hearts out, but they are nowhere near the elite level of Italy. No need to exert all your energy, trying to score tons of goals, against an opponent like this.
I can't stand that all people want to talk about is this 'fastest goal' or the 'almost' tie goal…. nobody is talking about that Italy controlled this game the ENTIRE time 70% of ball possession. Albania looked like a bunch of kids trying to play against there coaches.
I say that fast goal I'm 23 sec. Is an absolute mistake….but I guarantee it won't happen again…..and as for that almost tie goal…it's a shot on goal…one of what should of been more, it's Albania's only time In the entire game that Albania actually attacked well.; a real team would of done that more. Italy is levels above them…..are they the best, maybe not, but what team doesn't have things to do better?. FORZA AZZURI!!!!
