  1. Fun fact: With West or reunified Germany participating in every world cup aside from 1930 (couldnโ€™t afford to enter due to the great depression) and 1950 (was banned from entering), euro 1960 and 1964 (refused to participate), euro 1968 is the only world cup or euros where they participated in qualification but failed to qualify.

  2. 1966 = Italy play a dissapointing world cup losing to North Korea
    1968 = Italy win the euros against Yugoslavia.
    2018 = Italy fail to qualify for the world cup losing against Sweden.
    2021 = Italy win the Euros beating England on penalties.
    2022 = Italy fail to qualify for the world cup a second time in a row after losing to North Macedonia.
    2024 = ….

  3. There is no European teams managed to win Euro and World Cup in consecutive periods other than Germany, France, and Spain.
    Same thing goes for Italy. After Euro 1968, they are still lost to Brazil in World Cup 1970.
    I hope Italy lose will lose again to Brazil in World Cup 2022 Final after Euro 2020 glory.
