World football??? Chill out bro. First of all, he's a good player. Secondly, only four people know him outside of U.S. Thirdly, World football is not like other American sports where American teams win amongst themselves and we call them "World champions".
If I were you, I would slow down with the hype.
The US actually has a pretty good midfield with Musah, Adams, and Mckennie that let us control possession and tempo in the World Cup games in Dubai. We didn't do enough with that possession obviously, but it was surprising to see as a fan.

great insight from jesse marsch. he really has a brilliant football mind. he's developed some top young talent (haaland). he is spot on about mckennie's versatility and athleticism. people give him a hard time about leeds, but take a honest look at that team. that was championship level squad with a delusional, toxic fanbase. great experience for him nonetheless and he's coming into his prime now.
