  1. Here's the deal with Wes. He's a very volatile player. Starting him raises the team's ceiling, but it also lowers their floor. Because if he shows up and plays like he did at Copa 24 or during his Leeds tenure, we're in big trouble. But on the other hand, if he shows up and balls out like World Cup 22 or more recently during the October window and the last few matches for Juve, our midfield can go toe to toe with any team in the world (if your first instinct is to laugh at that statement, rewatch the England game). That's why he needs to start, because you can't go into a home tournament with the mindset of not wanting to finish last. It's like Poch said, your mindset has to be "let's win this thing" and no offense to guys like Tessmann and Roldan, but Weston in the midfield next to Adams gives us the best chance to make noise next summer.
