  1. This is our C team.
We haven't had any friendlies leading up to the tournament, so none of the players have played together.
We also have players showing up to the camp with 2 days left after playing MLS games.

I see us getting knocked out in quarterfinals.

Best case is we see 2 or 3 players that shine and can be options in WCQ.

  2. Not having the overseas players now, the US team goes from being a solid top two team to a team fighting with about other 4 or 5 teams fighting for a place in the semis and potentially final. Dont be surprised if the American team gets knocked out in quaterfinals.

  3. it's always a failure if they don't win the GC. there is zero reason usmnt should be the best team in the region. these dolts are already making excuses for a piss poor team.

  4. How can you be confident in WCQ when you need depth if that depth performs poorly in GC? To take the pressure off of this US C team in the GC does a disservice to the player pool. The expectation should be to win no matter what roster is called. Its more on GB to elevate this C team with formation tactics and substitutions. I would see it a failure of GB. You need a coach to find the right player combos and make it work.

  5. Wow just cause they won the Nations Leauge doesn't mean they should relax they should take every tournament serious since they didn't make the last World Cup they need to stay humble and stop acting like they made the World Cup already

  6. The goal and expectation should absolutely be to win the Gold Cup! Stop diluting what US Soccer can and should be accomplishing with all the investment made into the sport – that's a silly mind game you guys are playing!

  7. Dont count out that Canadian team that still has a great squad despite missing Jonathan David, Atiba, borjan and Arfield. I may be missing some players here but even though they are missing those players they still have a really good top line a decent mid field and a decent back end. Canada shouldn't be slept on. Overall I'm looking forward to this and the world Cup qualifiers final round.

  8. Won't be a failure but we should at least get to semis. If we play piss poor and get eliminated in group stage or quarters, it will be a failure. It will also tell us the level of certain players we know are mediocre (yueill Roldán lletget) and where they fall on the depth chart. Also will tell us about GGG's ability to coach a team not carried by our European stars

  9. I wouldn't say it is automatically a failure. It matters more what the showing looks like. If you fall on your face yeah it's a problem, but if you go out there and show out I can br happy

  10. No because the US team isn’t on that level. Mexico is the real and only big team in concacaf. The pressure is on them and always on them to win. Nobody expects anything out of the USA in this tournament. If the US win that’s great! If they don’t then it’s more of the same

  11. Now that the US won the CONCACAF Nation’s League Cup, they have less pressure to which the GOLD CUP. It would be nice if they win because it would be statement from the MLS since it’s mainly MLS talent in the GOLD CUP. But the real pressure is on Mexico to win it!
