  1. Leave the football before the football leave you.
With the way Messi is playing, Ronaldo will play till 90.
Ronaldo has been finished since Qatar 2022. Zero goals and assists in 2022 world cup, zero goals and assists in Euro 2024, same will play out in 2026.
Only a self deceiver thinks Ronaldo still got anything to offer.
Off the bench, he might be able to offer something but not as a starter

  3. This how you know this might be Portugal’s World Cup, all that doubt and jumping to conclusions. remember what you guys were saying last World Cup when Argentina lost to Saudi it might have been a draw I can’t remember. Ronaldo did good things in that match, pressed at times, created some chances, missed some good chances. Congo are no joke, very organized, defensively sound, and provide a real counter attack. Algeria went at Argentina opened the game up, and the way they were marking Messi was hilarious.

  4. Ronaldo didn't score a single goal at EURO 2024, so why do people expect it to be any different in this World Cup? He's been finished for years. 😂

  5. How can you say they cater to him when they barely play for him? You can often see him make runs and get nothing. Even last game it wasn't untill Conceição came in that he actually got a few balls. That being said, I do believe he needs to be coming in as a sub tho. Give Ramos a run of games to try and get is confidence up.

  6. You guys don't know football at all. Messi is a playmaker while Ronaldo is a striker. The team couldn't get the ball to Ronaldo for most of the game against Congo. Only 2, not really clean passes got to him. They couldn't even cross the ball to him to use his head which is also one of his areas of strength.
Ronaldo can drop to midfield and make way better passed to a striker but who do they have to play the striker's role. I wonder if his teammates or coach are deliberately playing that way to frustrate him. With all the stars they had in the game, no clean pass to him. Even Mbappe wasted 2 clean passes to him before he scored from the pass of brilliance from Olise.

  7. Argentina won the copa america with messi injured for the most part

I think the scariest thing about argentina is how they play without messi
.

No team is actually ready for these guys

  8. Whoa I agree with the Ronaldo comments but “nothing without Messi”? Messi is the GOAT. No doubt about it. But Argentina ain’t a bunch of scrubs either.

  9. The Messi bias is palpable 😂

I mean couldn't you argue that Portugal individual players are superior than Argentina players by that logic? Speaking in playing football of course.

  10. That’s always been the thing with Ronaldo the ego is to big, and no one can say anything when u can back it up, but now since he has gotten older and lost several steps his ego just won’t let go, and it’s sad because Portugal has some really amazing players. I think he should be in the squad but not starting. This was vs DR Congo, this was his chance to pad them stats and get a goal or 2 before the competition starts really revving up and getting harder. But hey all taht talk an about Ronaldo and he is 40, how about Spain and yeah Lamin didn’t play the whole game but he is another ego guy same with Ibrahimović when he played. And look I acknowledge greatness Ronaldo is great even though I’m partial to Messi, but players like Ibrahimovic and Ronaldo and even Lamin are arrogant , Messi is humble just puts his head down and plays hard, no ego no arrogance, just greatness! Messi is still incredible and proved why last night! Messi keeps taking the kids to school! Class dismissed!!!

  11. I agree on the Ronaldo point, he is an active anchor to PORTUGAL. His pace has mostly gone, and his instincts and reactions are nowhere near as sharp. Would I trust him one-on-one in front of goal? Absolutely. But that was never his game to play as a pure striker, and he still tries to act like he can play like that.

Messi plays around his strengths. Finding pockets of space, the cleanest touch in football history, and turns for a finish which he hasn’t lost. Ronaldo needs to act more like a traditional #9 when he’s in, or just be a super sub at this point.
