AS AN ITALY FAN, I WAS SHOCKED BUT NOT SURPRISED AS WE HAD ALREADY QUALIFYED OUT OF THE GROUP TO PLAY SPAIN, BUT HAVE SAY WELL DONE TO REP.IRELAND , AS THEY ALSO BEAT US IN THE 1994 WORLD CUP IN THE FIRST GROUP GAME, AS WE WENT ON TO LOSE ON PENALTIES TO BRAZIL, IN THE FINAL AFTER A 0-0 DRAW. THERE ARE NO EASY GAMES IN TOURAMENT FOOTBALL AS ITALY CAN TESTIFY TO, AS WE HAVE COME UNSTUCK MANY TIMES OURSELVES, SO WELL DONE TO REP.IRELAND FOR BOTH WINS AGAINST US.

Some perspective needed….dead rubber game for the Italian who played their B team. No comparison to beating the Italian in the WC in 1994 in a properly competitive game.

I was watching the match outside of a pub, I was living in Turin at the time. When Brady scored basically all people went home, as if they thought "well, they deserved and we dont need to win, let's go to sleep"
