Taylor Twellman is joined by The Athletic’s Paul Tenorio and Pablo Maurer to talk through how Miami became the most wanted victory in MLS, as well as their upcoming trip to D.C. United—a club that itself was once the league’s “most wanted” and is showing signs of hope after a down year in ’23.

I can't believe they said the Yankees instead of the Miami Heat. It's right there!!
MLS is NOT BIGGER THAN MESSI! I didn’t watch a single MLS game! But MESSI made me watch. And EVERYONE HATES THEM?! LOL MLS: Where Barcelona Greats come to Entertain. These were the same people saying Messi couldn’t do anything with the worst team in MLS! Instead of being grateful they’ve become Karen’s!
Don Garber’s villain wears black and gold.
We love leo❤and miami
They are villians for you and people watching, or associated to other clubs in MLS and living in US.
But, for newbies in soccer in US, and for all the old timers of football who have been following the game since early 2000's, its just a joy to watch the Greatest of all time playing and influencing the team, making the club's legendary history in the present and attracting sky rocket no.s from all over the World towards MLS. No, he and Inter Miami reborned will make you all love football/soccer even more.
I think the opposite everyone loves them and everyone wants to see them succeed!
Nope they are the worst team in mls
Miami plays football not soccer, because the king of football is in Miami. the GOAT Leonel Messi
I know MLS from beckham, ibra, bale, rooney, kaka. But i never watch every singel game before messi join inter miami
I will be completely honest, i would NEVER EVER have watched MLS whithout Messi being there. Even after the next WC and Copa i dont imagine MLS would have become a good league, now there is a chance because of the attention.
We will see how things progress after the Copa America in US
Look at the salaries each team is paying. 34 million buys an mls cup, Toronto did the same thing a few years ago. Also LA.
Bro they are the reason everyone is watching mls 😂😂 otherwise everyone hated the league which says soccer 😂
Bro they are the reason everyone is watching mls 😂😂 otherwise everyone hated the league which says soccer 😂
So when they on the bottom of the board im guessing they are a good guy then ? But after they on the top board now they’re the bad guy 🤣🤣🤣 typical loser respond🤧🤧
Well you are victims of the GOAT. Just enjoy living under the shadow of the GOAT
MLS is making Miami as villain because they want more attention to other teams or league itself.
It's their marketing strategy. MLS want leveraging Messi's fame for MLS benefit.
Anyway they should be more thankful for Messi being in MLS.
🇪🇺 "Atletico" 2:1 "Inter" 🇪🇺
I posted the penalty shootout: 3:2 on my channel
Aren’t you talking like kids bro do u know what is football you guys know soccer fools
Miami tries to hard to goal, and lacks in defense. As proven by the unfortunate showing against Montreal.
What’s there to like about them when the moment Messi arrives they fire their coach, suddenly all these Miami fans come out of the woodwork, ticket prices go sky high, when Messi doesn’t play half the stadium is empty, they almost change their entire squad the next year replacing even Yedlin, they get 12 mins extra time to attempt to equalize v Montreal. It’s obviously bias.
Messi ❤
MLS became popular due to the presence of Inter Miami ❤
They hell are you two on about? Everyone I know is stoked for the attention Miami is bringing to the league. They haven't even pulled down a cup yet and yall saying they are the villains of MLS? From league rookies to vets everyone is stoked to step on the pitch with Messi. This some made up BS for clicks. Sounders till I die but even I can see this is fantastic for the league. Trash take once again from the talking heads.
Yes and we love it
has anyone ever noticed how biased the refereeing is against Miami? this has been the case since before they signed Messi & co. the league must have something against David Beckham or something…
no they're ruining the league
oh like the miami heat big 3? yeah sure thing
A trophieless team is the "villian" of the league? LOL, what kind of delusional propaganda is this??
IMO They're only the villain because MLS and its social medias has been pink washed. If you like following MLS soccer you can't go 2 minutes without having to hear about Messi Miami.
The apple deal, Messi and the leagues cup elevated the league and set a new standard , teams are rising to the occasion MLS is in the best place it's ever been
Uhhhh no, the vilian is the MLS
The most natural and overall healthy way for ppl to start talking about, and watching other MLS teams play, is for the other teams to get to the level of Inter and challenge them successfully on the pitch. If you don't understand that, then maybe you should stop thinking about yourself as a sports commentator.
No one would care about MLS if it wasn’t for Inter Miami
they’re villains but they haven’t really been a good team, they seem like they’ll do better this season, so we’ll see what happens
This is so silly. If you're favorite team is out west the only time it really matters to beat Inter-Miami, is if they meet for the MLS Cup. Also, if on the playoff bubble. If I'm a Timbers fan I'd rather beat Seattle each time they play them over beating Miami, unless in the aforementioned MLS Cup.
They are the beginner superheroes, thet look scary but they don't do as much.
Front it top back is flop flop😂😂😂 at Miami
Americans just see football as the mcu lol
Visca Miami
To me no club is a “Villain” in MLS. When I think of “Villain” in other sports of think of the Cowboys, Yankees or Patriots. You can't be a villain if you haven't even won one MLS Cup. Plus the team composition is too new to be old usually people get sick of seeing the same players win year after year.
Nothing More stupid in American Sport media that looking always who are the villains…
Hate😂😂😂? As in other players standing in a line for autographs, pictures, and hoping to get a t-shirt! I'm willing to bet money that any of those players would do anything to be in inter miami! Jealousy and envy is more like it
MLS salary cap is lower than the janitorial crew at Netflix HQ… Raise the cap, let them spend to get good players in the league, NHL is 83 million this year, MLS is like 5mil, joke
Just abolish the salary cap. Does
$5.2m make sense?
despite me loving messi in MLS. i dont support Miami nor i live in Florida, i want my club to win and they did last year in the Open Cup and beat Miami. Miami is not the only vilian, there are 27 other vilians in the league for me. pretty sure any other fan in MLS who support their own teams feel the same way
Good sports villains actually win games of note/trophies to build up the hatred and/or envy. Haven't quite gotten to that point with Miami
