Known as the Tyne–Wear derby, or Wear–Tyne derby, the fixture between Sunderland and Newcastle is one of football’s fiercest derbies. With a rivalry that predates football, these two cities once again resume their battle in the Premier League for the first time since their 1-1 draw during the 2015/16 season.

  1. Prince bishops put money into Sunderland to be a port. Then Oliver Cromwell fought mags and won because the Scots also joined him in the war against them. Long history

  2. Really appreciate the production of this video to let people outside the UK like me understand more about the Wear Tyre Derby, and the UK culture as well. I think I can imagine the vibe during the derby, it would probably be like the North East El Clasico, the El Clasico in the North East, and it is a very huge event specifically in that area I can imagine.

  3. Sunderland fans hate newcastle like the Scottish hate England. We all know that England are always gonna do alot better than Scotland but still gonna win fuck all. With Scotland ( sunderland) its collect your participation trophy.
