  1. He has a point. Wenger was sacked by Monaco and did a stint in Japan with decent results. Then, all of a sudden, he took the helm of Arsenal. He had no real credible resume to lead a Premier League team, but eventually, he was able to prove his worth by having an eye for French talent. TiTi, Viera, Petit, Pires, so many gems that Wenger pulled out of nowhere.

  2. I hate the phrase” what I’m trying to say” you are already tarnishing legendary image of Ian Wright because what was said at that time? I am disappointed in you today. I take you and Ian as Arsenal’s greatest but to you to talk about I an Wright in that way is demeaning.

  3. So was that an insult. If someone said Thiery who? Because they did not know you before. Problem you talk to much. You force things. You are a good legend of Arsenal but that interview bring ing in Ian Wright was not cool.

  4. Thiery do NOT trash Ian, he speaks of you in high esteem. If he said it, leave it at the back. Of all people it should not be you to bring that up.

  5. Postecoglu had a very similar trajectory, winning in Japanese Leagues then transferring to North London. Sadly for me as a Spurs fan I don’t think he’ll quite have the impact on us the way Wenger did back then: the game has changed.

  6. More a sign of the times with people knowing much less about football globally than jgim being a real unknown.
He'd been offered the Bayern Munich and France national team job by the time he got to Arsenal, and won numerous trophies and managed in Europe whilst managing in France during a very strong period in that league.
