  1. For me, It's not the winning, its how they are winning. They look like they belong. Where as in the past we always looked like we were holding on for dear life

  2. He wasn't winning because he was experimenting with the team; he knew the World Cup was the starting line, he needed to stretch the team in different ways to see how he could flex them against different styles of opposition. We gotta stop leaving the context out, it's a disservice to his legacy here.

  3. Simmer down lady. The female US team isn't as good as the previous 3 generations and none of them could beat the U-14 boys team. A champion in women's sports is meaningless

  4. This is truly Russel Crow's greatest performance ever! From the fans to the US Mutant Ninja Turtle players on the field, everyone is buying into this Pochitino character!

  5. Even if he leaves hed have to do something horrific to destroy wjat jes already accomplished….like when Bruce arena made everyone forget getting to the 2002 quarterfinals by not even qualifying for 2018

  6. He had to get rid of the “favoritism”
lethargy disease. The players who knew they were n and didn’t have to try. The players who felt that cudnt get in bc of them and didn’t worry about trying either. He left stars at home and gave hope to those who want to wear the shirt and compete hard for that opportunity. He gave hope to the outsiders and humble pie to the insiders. He wud rather have passion late effort than lazy talent.

Sincerely hope that he stays for many reasons. The top is him teaching our coaches how to instill this brand of soccer all over the country!!!!! When kids learn they can work on skills in street ball and don’t need a green pitch to play, the close up technique is what USA lacks.

3 on 3, 1v1 skills and pickup type games will produce technical footwork skills we haven’t had before. His aggressive approach is attractive to watch and fun to play, but most of all successful. Kids will be drawn to include it in their sports pursuits.

  7. Obviously the lady has no idea what she is talking about… not winning for a long time??? Gold Cups, and beating Mexico like 7 times in a row. Come on ma'am!!

  8. Somebody has to be the guy who ‘builds’ and ‘develops’ a long term structure of players and support. Somebody who ‘knows’ what it’s suppose to look like and how you get there. ‘This’ guy has that plus a creative mind.

  9. He wasn't too happy because doug McIntyre, Hercules Gomez, & Paul Tenorio were leading the charge in running their mouths instead of trusting the process. Profe told us what he was doing over and over yet the narratives kept getting set about something else.

  10. He always understood the importance of this world cup. His frustration came from the players not understanding it, he had to rebuild the culture from scratch.

  11. The players are starting to play like an Argentina team.

It took a while for the American players to get on board this Argentina project, but they are starting to use the word “suffer”, which has been in Argentina 🇦🇷 ⚽️ for decades.

It took over a year and a half for the various privileged players to understand that they were replaceable, and some were replaced. But some finally woke up.

Thank you Mauricio for bringing Argentina fútbol to the United States. 🙏

  12. I was skeptical NGL. Never really liked him in the Premiere League… but as a National League team… especially our beloved Yanks… he is the perfect fit

  13. Im optimistic either way if he stays or leaves, I think if he leaves we will be just fine in finding an elite coach. People can see that the USMNT has a bright future, and whoever is this first to bring them to glory will be forever stamped. Its a very attractive job now because of this World Cup.

  14. Less pressure being the national team coach of a "good" team. Win against lesser teams and have more draws than losses against top squads will definitely get you to the World Cup again and again

Immense pressure being a club manager. On top of the world today, fired 6 weeks later. Club managers know that they're hired only to be fired at a later date

  15. Yes… and then comes concacaf qualifying

Which he was saved from this term. I want porch to stay. But a mnt manager for usa isn’t always this glorious.

  16. Managing in International football is a completely different beast day to day- different pace. More than anything depends on if he wants that vs the everyday nonstop intensity of managing a top club. Hope he stays on, but totally get it if he does not.

  17. It makes a huge difference that didn’t have to qualify for the World Cup. I personally don’t care if they lose all of their friendlies because it doesn’t matter. If he can get the top players to play at their best on a regular basis that’s all I care about.

  18. Of course he needs time to managed a national team…and I'm sure he will take the team and make games against the big teams much more frequently..that's the idea
