  1. Astroturf has had a massive impact. In certain countries, football would be unplayable for a large percentage of the year without Astroturf. Amateur and semi-pro football in England would also almost completely stop without it. Also putting goalkeeper gloves as small impact is an absolute joke

  2. If knuckle balls didnt exist ronaldo wouldve never scored so many free kicks and just the technique inspired and fascinated so many players into playing the game now

  3. Substitutions! Before them, injured players wouldn't be replaced mid game, plans would be ruined as soon as one team is left with 10 or 9, maybe some would deliberately abuse this; either way, without subs football would be a hunting zone instead of the beautiful game.

  4. Not only do goalie gloves effect goalkeepers but also effect every other player as if these gloves didn’t exist, there would be so many goals per game due to the fact that if a keeper is trying to stop a ball flying at him at 100kph, he’s obviously gonna get injured and it’s gonna result in an easy goal

  5. Astro turf is a difficult one, we in Germany have a lot of Astro turf pitches and most teams let their youth play on them.I don’t think it has actually had a huge impact on the game and is still rare for most of the world and with football being so global I don’t think it should be high on the list

  6. I don't agree with cam at all on the astro turf thing, if it wasn't for artificial grass, I would never have been able to play or at least experience something close to proper football.
