  1. How did all of these brands get everyone to settle for plastic socks as a proper football boot? Oh that's right, they all caved to organizations campaigning against using real leather.

  2. People hate on the Hypervenom 2's WAY TOO MUCH. I wore my pair for 3 seasons straight, I stopped wearing them simply because I grew out of them, and it was only by the third year wear and tear started to happen with some sole separation just only starting. The main problem with the hypervenom 1 was very poor durability, and this boot was the byproduct of trying to fix that, but as a result of trying to create exceptional durability, a stiffer upper is needed, as it's difficult to make a very good durability boot without the upper being stiffer than usual if it's not a leather upper (which leather does soften after breaking in), but people will complain about the 'stiff' upper on the hypervenom 2's, but similar to leather boots, they softened up drastically, it was stiffer at first, but after it softened it became more flexible, which increased the comfort too. The upper to me feels like a more rigid and almost thicker leather, and so if you ever got stepped on, you wouldn't feel it as much compared to other boots.

The comfort on these boots were something else as well. The problem with other high cut nike boots at the time like the Magista and Superfly was that the stitching line of the dynamic fit collar went straight up the back of the heel, which I found quite irritating with my superfly 5's causing blisters on my upper heel, whereas on the hypervenom 2, the stitching line went around the ankle to one side, making the dynamic fit collar feel really like a sock and a good extension to the boot. The fit and comfort was just something else, and I think that is the best dynamic fit collar nike has ever made. The connection to the ground and traction also felt amazing. I wore these playing in 2 teams for 2 of those seasons, and 3 teams for 1 season, so they were getting used absolutely heaps, up to 12 hours a week for numerous trainings and games, and the durability never failed me.

As you said Jay Mike, pro's can get a new pair of boots any time they want, so likely a lot of the pro's who wore the hypervenom 2's didn't wear a singular pair for long enough to properly soften the upper and wear them in (which it definitely had a longer break in period than most boots) and like Neymar, ended up changing to a different silo. I don't blame Neymar for opting for the Mercurial Vapor X. It's an exceptional boot, and definitely better suited as a winger rather than the Hypervenom Phinish.

Majority of the people who hate on the Hypervenom 2's are likely NPC's who jump on the bandwagon and have never worn a pair, and are the same people who glaze hypervenom 1's and have never worn a pair of those either, I have both (original and 2025 remake). The hypervenom 1 is better for attacking players, whereas the hypervenom 2 is better for defenders/CDM's, which is why I love them as a CB/CM myself. The hypervenom 1 does feel better to strike a ball in the sense you get a really good feel, making it great for finishing like curl and swaz shots, but I think the hypervenom 2 is more comfortable, also better for wider feet, and you can definitely put some good power behind shots with them, which is why a striker with a powerful kick like Lewandowski, stuck with the boots even with the controversy.

  3. I’m gonna show my age here but the HV2 was horrible. Nowadays though, you see so many of the newer generation saying “i just got some HV2 Nike doesn’t make it like this anymore..” and I think really? Hahaha. Obviously it’s their childhood but man those were terrible. Crazy how nostalgia works

  4. 这5款球鞋里面,4款我都仍然在穿着踢球(Hypervenom 2,copa pure 1,ultra ultimate,and visaro 1),而speedflow我曾经也拥有过……

  5. I remember the same for Van Persie when the LZ released, he sticked with the AdiPower and won the PL. Even for a LFC fan like me it was something back then.

  6. Hey Jay! I wanted to ask you a question, would you prefer laceless or laced adidas predator league (predator 26, the lucid red colourway)? Also, do laceless boots lose tightness over time?

  7. That’s crazy how Neymar as a professional footballer didn’t like the cleats provided being elites. And during that time I had the academy version and it was horrible super stiff and uncomfortable

  8. Is the speedportal.1 good enough today? I was wondering especially how durable the upper is, because a lot of people onlind claim it breaks in month

  9. I noticed you are using the Tiro Pro ball, can we expect a review coming soon? I have always been curious about this ball and how it compares to other match balls. Additionally, can we get a detailed comparison between a derbystar and the Brilliant super TB and UZ? I know the derbystar is hand sewn but what else is different? I notice that you always say the UZ or TB are the best balls on the market, why not the DerbyStar?

  10. Nahh the HV2 were fine, just requires like 2 training sessions for break-in.
If anything they are comparable to the new pred 26.
I understand the contrast to the HV1 and that pros wear new boots every game but they were fantastic on field.

  11. I will never undestand why Adidas and Nike made the best football boots ever around 2014 and then just moved on, making only worse ones…

  12. I’m a boot nerd too, but get someone to put the boots for you. You won’t know what’s on your feet; stud pattern, upper material, etc. I’ve done it and I can only notice if the boot has extra material (lace cover, FT tongue, Dynamic Fit Collar, Strike Foam). Give it a try 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ NO BOOT IS UNWEARABLE
