  1. Good discussion. On this CF issue, my tuppence: hope Haaland does not get bought this year by someone else, get him next year. I was impressed by Kane at Euros, so I remain unsure whether he would be better than Haaland but, anyway, he's on his way now (probably to City, along with Grealish. Sigh.)

  2. Is this why United is failing to challenge the title because guys like these are making the decisions?
A noob can do better analysis than them

  3. Carragher we all like you. But only someone who follows man united as fan day in day out understands what united really needs at the moment. Gary is absolutely right. Its Sancho who is a higher priority and not Kane. Sancho and Diallo rotate on right. Martial and Rashy on left and Cavani and greenwood at number 9.

  4. A Good cdm!! Sancho is to expensive won’t bring nothing new! Cristiano Ronaldo can come for 25M and is versatile, can be striker, forward and both wingers… is still a amazing option for 2 seasons at least… also I believe amadu amad will be better than Sancho….

  5. Haaland over Sancho any day, Greenwood does well on the RW. ST needs improvement especially since the only other option is 34 yr old,no matter how good he is there's no future.buttttt, CB and CDM are even more important, need Varane and N'didi imo

  6. You see, I disagree with Carra. What City Chelsea and pool all have in common, is a bench that would have at least 2 impact subs. But United’s squad in the final had Mata and James. Don’t get me wrong mata is/was a fantastic player. But he’s past his prime and not really a game changer anymore. Getting Sancho means that United will have likes of Martial and Greenwood on the bench ready to make an impact. Even is someone gets injured you don’t have to panic knowing that there’s a capable replacement and the fact that Sancho can fit into all 3 of the attacking roles behind the striker means everything. I wanna see a bench of Martial Greenwood DVB Mctominay and Telles. All impact players that can slot in if they need them. Don’t wanna see mediocre players on the bench even again.

  7. Challenge for the league? HA! Not a chance with Fred n linderlof. Even if you sign the legendary Brazilian Ronaldo you can't go forward with those two at the back

  8. The fact that Chelsea won the ucl with a solid defense rather than scoring more goals is amazing tho work of timo without the ball is amazing but utd need a solid defender!

  9. Above anything we need a CDM. I would debate we need 2 tbh. And then we need to bring Garner into our squad. If we bring in Declan Rice to sit in a single pivot behind Pogba and Fernandes then have McTominay, Garner and another backing them up we are way better off.

The argument of winger or striker is interesting though. No one is talking about how poor Martial is. Sell him and replace him with a new striker. James, Mata and Lingard too, you can promote Amad and Elanga and they can back up our starters, but Sancho is needed so badly. Rashford needs time out for surgery and by the time he’s back Cavani’s time will almost be up.

Have Elanga backing up Sancho at LW, Amad backing up Greenwood, Bruno and Pogba in front of Rice and then have a new striker with Cavani rotating in when needed. He’ll still play the cup games, start the odd PL game and he’ll be the first off the bench for sure. Rashford needs time out, give it to him.

  10. Would like a solid CDM like ndidi, someone who intercepts a lot or wins the ball very quickly, we need player with quick turnarounds go get the counter attacks going rapid.

  11. United don't need a striker, at least for this next season. they need a centre-back with pace, a quality defensive-midfielder, and a right-winger. i would try to sign Varane, Rice, & Sancho.

    GK: Henderson
    RB: Wan-Bissaka
    CB: Varane
    CB: Maguire
    LB: Shaw
    DM: Rice
    CM: Pogba
    AM: Fernandes
    RW: Sancho
    ST: Cavani
    LW: Rashford

that team would actually have a chance of competing with Man City and Liverpool for the title next year.

  12. Cavani is not good for man united, I don't question his quality or hard work, but they need a striker who terrorised defenders instead of terrorising whoever has the ball. Against Villereal summed up how his style does not work for the team. After he makes those tackles in the middle of the pitch he is just out of the attacking game and no one is there to fill in for him. It might work against Brighton or Tottenham, but you don't win trophies against those teams.
