  1. okay yall so i play club soccer and this is my first year playing club and im a goalie but my coach likes to only practice me as a goalie but during games i never play goalie and at my last game i ended up a striker and the entire time everyone was screaming at me to get offsides and i have no idea what offside means can someone please explain it to me at like a 3rd grade level please bc i need to know what im doing wrong

  2. The only thing I find annoying about the rule is that they'll literally draw a line and the edge of someone's shoulder is past it and they call it. Like, come on. You can't lean forward? When you're running ? It's just too finicky

  4. To be fair it evolved from the same rule in Rugby and American Football, it was simple, you could not be in front of the ball at the time the ball was played, unless the player doesn't interfere, over time this was changed to only apply if there were fewer than 3 defensive players between the ball and the goal-line, and then this was reduced to 2, hence the current rule.
Edit – I realise this was a joke but gelt an inherent need to defend the rule
