  1. So it'll only disrupt the Premier League calendar and more other leagues? Do the teams in other leagues have to play fewer games than Premier League teams?

  2. Why just prem teams, this is adding fixtures to all leagues with 20 teams. And while we can say less fixtures already for leagues with 18 teams, this makes their conditions even worse given they don't know how to plan for this

  3. One thing people don't mention is the after season fatigue.
Yes players will be more tired during the season and the injuries will multiply but man the summer tournaments are the ones who will suffer the most.

The last Euro was already awful because all the star players were exhausted, but now lmao. Its going to be even worse.

  4. Just cut the carabao, let it be a competition for team from mid table to league under. Every team who's participating in Europe competition, can cancel their participation in carabao/league cup

  5. All 8 group stage games being important is a good thing.
The last 2 fixtures coming so late in December and January is the bad thing.

But the bigger talking point here might be that it's probably about damn time the English clubs fix their horrible schedules to at least match the rest of the leagues, most other clubs are on holiday while the English clubs play late into Christmas and New Year's, unless you have 3 Starting Line-Ups worth of depth in your squad like Man City, it is a pretty Noticeable Disadvantage in European competition.
