One team dominates in Germany and has dominated for a long time.

Bayern Munich are on course for their 15th league title since 2000.

  1. There is no debate in this regard. People usually call the French League 1 as the farmers League but the actual farmers League should be The German Bundesliga. Many would say The Premier league has become more of a same as the Bundesliga but no one can deny the hard competition in The premier league.

  2. Fun fact: Bayern Munich's streak of having at least one player in the World Cup final continues!

Kingsley Coman and Dayot Upamecano played in the final, while Lucas Hernandez and Benjamin Pavard were in the squad.

  3. 2:49 Oh my, that is not a good map. Munich is in the right place, so is Leipzig. Wolfsburg and Schalke are kinda close, but the rest is off by hundreds of Kilometers. Leverkusen is almost on the north sea by Bremen, that's around 250km away from its actual location. Dortmund seemingly became a neighbor to OsnabrΓΌck, wandering north by about 100km. Frankfurt found a new home in the center of northern Germany, amusingly closer to Frankfurt (Oder) in eastern Germany than to the actual location of Eintracht Frankfurt's home, although the distance to both is over 300km.

  4. Bayern only wins because the direct rivals always screw up the last rounds against weaker opponents even when they are 10 points ahead of Bayern like Dortmund did many times. Consistency is key, be like Bayern and you'll win in life.

  5. The reason is the ENTIRE Bundesliga is their feeder club. There are several teams that could compete, if they stopped selling their best players to Bayern. For example….last season RB Leipzig was the 2nd place club, what did they do? They sold 3 of their best players to Bayern….SMH. Example Neuer gets injured, what happens? BMG sells their Number 1 GK to Bayern…..

  6. The English Premier League is at risk of becoming boring like the Bundesliga and League 1. All because of oil money and financial cheating by Manchester City, and will be the same cheating by Newcastle. Such a shame.

  7. I think the major problems with the globalization of the football is that the clubs that were best at the time of that globalization and those who could better jump in that wagon increased their revenues way more than the rest of teams of their respect leagues, creating therefore a lot of inequality in their own domestics leagues, nowadays people are more interested in what happen in Champions League than in the local league, the Big Clubs of Europe knew that and realized how much profitable would be for them if they rather than focusing in the local leagues focus in a League between only the best clubs in Europe, that is why they try to create the Super League, the problem was that by doing that league, they were condemning the rest of the locals teams to ostracism, because that would have been the final nail in the coffin for the domestics league.

It should be great that every major league would have at least 4 major contender competing each season for the championship that would make any league interesting, and I think that is why Premier League always referring at the best Football League in the world.

  8. I used to be a die hard Bundesliga fan. Now I simply stopped to watch it since is almost disheartening the lack of competition. When competitions become a monopoly, the title simply loses value. With the Champions it is a little less dramatic, but still you could list ten teams to become champions with a 95% certainty.

I really think football needs to implement some of the rules that keep American sports competitive, the likes of NBA or NFL. Each and every year the NBA becomes more global for the fierce competition which football is lacking. If thats not possible Germany at least should ensure two more powerhouses to keep it interesting.
