Then expect flowers?? Watch neatherlands playing advanced knockout phases. Around 10 yellow cards average especially against Argentina.
Spain has a rich history sending off the best player of the opponent team injured in knockout phase. Argentina never sent off a player injured.

Spain's 1st half performance against France is the best I have seen in football.
The only time amateurs like me watch football is during the world cup. Being amateurs, we are not interested in high grade football tactics, we are interested in two apparent things – dribbling and goals. Spanish football has neither and allows neither. So this years world cup was a damp squib and a waste of time with no excitement. Poker games are more fun.

Your imagine of the foul for the disallowed goal is extremely misleading. Other images from slightly earlier from a different angle clearly shows the Spaniard stamping on the Argentine's foot.
Spain's goal against Argentina was scored using a deep cross into the blind spot of the defense. Brazil's first goal against Japan was also scored using the same tactic. Any offensive tactic is usually effective when it comes with a surprise for the defending team, and surprise for teams occurs when a team does not always and consistently use only one tactic in attack, but has the ability to quickly and flawlessly execute a variety of tactics to become unpredictable.
But without Argentina this world cup would be boring, sad they didn't play the same in the final 😢

Argentina's awful play gave the game away.
Also thanks to Messi, he just walked 99% of the match.
He didn't even press or run in the last 10 minutes when they needed a goal to not lose and it was all or nothing.
During this world cup tournament Spain team offered a whole bunch of awesome, long ball possession attacks. One of them is the second goal against France but there are plenty: second half against Austria is a masterclass of passing skills, providing football gourmets with 3 or 4 attacks exceeding 1 minute time. Hugely talented players from a football culture, that make the Spaniards a model to follow.

Completely agree with all you said here and I've been follwing for years but saying that Argentina started to "show their true colours" smacks of hate and disrespect.
