  1. If Joao Pedro took Chelsea's pens instead of Palmer and Enzo, he would be right up there with Haaland and Igor Thiago in the golden boot race

  2. Enzo Maresca hit the wall of breaking down deep blocks and man-marking schemes with possession play. Without Colwill and Palmer to play make centrally, it felt like he went towards progressively riskier and indirect strategies. In possession, basically 2 CBs and Caicedo were left as the rest defense–both fullbacks and Enzo went forward. Rosenior has reintroduced Andrey Santos as a consistent, dedicated double pivot with Caicedo, which also helps concentrate play centrally. The other solution to lacking Palmer and Colwill was to play out wide more often, overloading wide spaces. This led to Pedro being isolated, and it also put a lot of pressure on the wingers to create, which only Estevao could do consistently with his ability to beat his man off the dribble (Neto and Garnacho would much rather have the ball in behind than have it to feet and have to face-up 1v1, is my sense). Rosenior, with the privilege of having Palmer back perhaps and installing a consistent double pivot, is able to play inside-out–keeping possession in the middle to spring through balls for the striker and wingers.

  3. What tactics? The same drivel buildup under Maresca is still there, stupid zonal marking during corners and set pieces and the same dull sabotaging subs he makes when the team is still in control. He is a muppet and should be nowhere near the club. Joao Pedro being in form has nothing to do with Rosenior.
