  1. But what you need to remember is without the people your bashing, you wouldn't know about Myles Lewis-Skelly. You gerrit? If you don't gerrit, forget abourrit.

  2. you guys should relax. a player would have one decent performance against a bad team and you're ready to make him a knight. mls has had opportunities and has not had a great season. he's behind hincapie and calafiori on merit. i'm glad he had a good international break and hope he continues to develop. however, you should relax.

  3. This performance is a result of Arteta training.
He could easily have been sent on loan. Instead, he has a role in the team thats teaching him discipline

  4. Maybe he should be given more minutes just not this season😂.
My guy put in that transfer request and join United where they’ll let you play and thrive

  5. Mind you, any time he has played for us this season, he has been awful. Gone from winning the majority of his duels to being easily beaten and caught out of position multiple times. A performance in a friendly doesn't erase how awful hes been when given a chance

  6. I’ve tried many times to shed light on this Costly Arteta problem; Why Declan Rice at Left No.8 is KILLING Arsenal’s Attack – Myles Lewis-Skelly Just Exposed the Truth.

Declan Rice as a left-sided No.8 is the single biggest reason Arsenal have lost their offensive fluidity and creativity in the final third.
I’m not here to make anyone feel good — I’m speaking the truth that too many PR experts and hype merchants want to ignore. They’ve tried marketing Rice for Ballon d’Or contention, calling him “world-class” and “complete,” but the numbers and the eye test tell a different story.
Watch Myles Lewis-Skelly’s recent masterclass for England U21. At just 19, he delivered exactly what a modern No.8 should: imaginative ball-carrying, progressive drives, verticality, creativity, and the ability to destroy transitions with elite dribbling and vision. He forces opponents to commit bodies to him, which instantly frees the No.10 to roam, lurk, and receive in pockets. The team keeps the ball longer in dangerous areas and creates constant threats.
Now compare that to what we see weekly from Declan Rice in the same role. Safe sideways and backwards passes. Slowing the tempo. Minimal risk, zero imagination. When he does go forward, it’s often the most obvious, telegraphed ball that anyone in any league could spot. His elite stats? Almost always defensive — tackles, recoveries, duels. That’s because when Rice starts as No.8, Arsenal struggle to keep possession and progress the ball upfield, so the opposition has the ball too often… forcing us to defend. Then fans and pundits clap for Rice winning tackles instead of questioning why we’re not attacking more.
The entire forward line has declined because they’re isolated. No constant combinations to free Saka. Our No.10 gets marked easily. Gyokeres scores hat-tricks for other teams because they actually build around him — we don’t platform our attackers the same way.
Rice is a top DM. Play him there. Or bring in someone like Zubimendi (who’s anchoring Spain brilliantly at international level with complete defensive and offensive contributions) as the pure anchor. That frees a true creative No.8 — someone with MLS-like dynamism — to unlock the team.
Until Arteta stops playing two DMs in midfield, we’ll keep seeing the same issues: difficulty retaining the ball in the final third, slow build-up, and excuses blaming the forwards alone. We lost key games (like against City) because opponents kept the ball better in our half — Rice makes it too easy for them with that conservative passing.
The overhyping of Rice actually highlights Arsenal’s creativity problems, not his individual brilliance. When sober analysis returns, people will see it: Rice isn’t Ballon d’Or material (not even top 10 in the PL conversation on his current output). He’s a phenomenal destroyer, but forcing him into an advanced creative role is holding the whole attack back.
Arteta has the pieces. Time to use them properly. Play Rice as the DM he is, and give the No.8 to a player who can actually play it like Lewis-Skelly just showed the world.
What do you think, Gunners? Drop your thoughts below — truth over hype. 🔥

  7. I love MLS. But he was playing against under 21’s. Not prem opponents. It’s very different. He had an insane first season, but the experienced players know what he has on his locker now so he’s got work to do. He’s still so young. There’s no rush. I’m certain if he stays at Arsenal (and I hope he does) he’ll become a great player.
