  1. 16:00 Simply GREAT coverage on Wirtz, pointing out how good he had been for the Mannschaft, despite his mixed, fairly slow start at Anfield, a fact that has been completely overlooked in the analyses I have watched on outlets like CBS who were judgeing Wirtz solely on his Liverpool performances.

  2. 14:08 On Kimmich: I am sure Nagelsmann would agree that Kimmich is WAY better in midfield than as a fullback. He simply does not have any elite right backs at his disposal rn, let alone a world class one like Phillip Lahm.

  3. Andrich committed a deliberate handball in his own box before that Cucurella incident, which, at the time, FIFA had explicitly not ruled as a handball in the ref workshop before that tournament. They then went on to reverse on that, further fuelling the confusion about the enigmatic handball rule, or, interpretation thereof, which, is in itself confusing everyone to this day.

That Kroos fouled Pedri, Spain’s best player, out of the game within the first twenty minutes is forgotten even better by the nation who loves “Dolchstoßlegenden” very much. Lmfao.

  4. even if the german team somehow manages to click well enough to play on par with France, Spain etc. – one ref will surely see to it that they exit one way or another.

  5. Germany definitely can go all the way. While the lineup at least for non Bundesliga watchers seems overwhelming it's exactly what Germany needs to execute their gameplan of dominating possession every game, you have 2 amazing ball playing center backs with tah and schlotterbeck both also capable of being a threat offensively and being able to do amazing long balls

Kimmich, stiller and Pavlo are all play makers used in possession based football, are press resistant and insanely accurate when it comes to passing and you have havertz and wirtz who are able to create these necessary spaces.

Only thing missing is a proper traditional 9, undav, woltemade and havertz don't fit the bill of a traditional 9 Germany is searching though I am confidant that undav in his current form will do a really good job and scoring the needed decisive goals

  6. people forget that germany has 2 sick stats. The Team with most Finals in World Cup History AND euro cup history. They will always be in the top 5 or top 4 fav cycle, no matter the team. The only thing that made that insane stats get some scars where since 2018 fiasco. i would never rule them out of going far

  7. I hate little more than people caring about how far you get rather than how well you played.

Germany actually didnt underpeform that much in the last tournaments, the last genuinely bad one was 2018… thats a long damn time ago

  8. You don't required superstars. But very very good coach and very very good goal keeper. Klose was not superstar. In japan world cup germany was average team. Its oliver kahn. Brazil with 3 R still not able to beat 7 – 0

  9. It won’t be long before we’re fawning over the warmongering autocrat in a propaganda spectacle straight out of 1936. Becoming world champions now means having this criminal hand you the trophy. Soccer is secondary; business and Trump-style glamour are the main events. Expecting something like decency and backbone from the DFB is like expecting a cow to put on an air show, and the fact that our national team is participating in this can only bring shame upon Germany. Despite my love for soccer, I certainly won’t be watching a broadcast of a World Cup match, but I’ll have to ask myself why a channel that seems committed to the sporting aspect of soccer is making itself an accomplice.

  10. There are a few players were I think would have had better options.
Rüdiger never delivered for the National Team. Bissek or Ginter would have been a better fits.
Noah Atubolu is an insane Penaltie Killer, would have taken him over Nübel. Just as an option and also for future.
    Tom Bischof over Goretzka.
And the elephant in the room. Sane? Why? He could have taken El Mala or Schade!. But Sane? Sane is for shure dissapearing as soon as the first whistle is blown.

The good thing though is that we have that many alternatives that gives me hope for the future of german football.
AND Julian Nagelsmann must have a plan of which he is thinking theses are the players he needs

  11. As a German I think this World Cup is a success as long as we beat one big Team. Euro '24 was great, we finally are beating Teams again that we should Beat. We saw that we can compete with the big Teams again, we played a great Match against Spain.
The next step is to show that we can Go through top Teams and beat them. I don't Care if it's in the R16, quarters or whatever. We have to get past one big team. For our own believe going forward, to create the confidence in the new Generation of players.
Anything past this would be absolutely fantastic, but If we take Out France or whoever in the R16 and Go Out to another big Team in the quarters it was a success in my eyes

  12. I disagree about the defenders – when was the last time we had a left back as good as Brown? right back Kimmich – probably the best since Lahm played there (so yes disadvantage vs 2014) and the CB are good (maybe also a disadvantage 2014). All in all that may be slightly worse than 2014, but still a strength in the team. I have a much bigger issue with Goretzka in midfield or anyone on the offensive side. Wirtz: great potential not consistent atm, Musiala: still recovering, Havertz: good, not great, never really showed up in the national team, Sane: great potential, awful work ethic that probably has a negative impact on others. Karl: great he's there, but whaz does it say about the rest of the team if a 18 year old with a great first half of the season should probably be in the starting lineup?

All in all: is it out of the question that we win? No. But everything needs to be perfect (e.g. Wirtz, Musiala, Havertz showing a form they haven't had recently). For teams like France even a average tournament can be enough.
