This is all BS. They literally posed no threat. 2 goals were given to them on a platter of Cucu's slipping off twice. Kudos to them for taking advantage but apart from that we'd have been looking at a game with 3-4 goals difference
Football tactical breakdowns AFTER a match are nonsense, to be honest. If Spursy won, it would have been how Postecoglou outclassed Maresca. My point is: Yes, tactics are a real thing but are often overvalued IMO. The truth is there are virtually endless variables that could determine the outcome of a game.
If Son scores that opportunity and if both Spursy players didn't give away stupid penalties, and If that Chelsea challenge was RED carded, Spursy would have won the game
Again, tactics are real – Absolutely, but you Internet "Tactical Analysis" people THINK that you know what you are talking about, when in reality, there are infinite variables that determine the outcome of a game. I would rather depend on match and player stats.

Maresca had the best advantage for a newly hired manager. He got a squad roster that is so big, an expanded backroom staffs and of course an ambitious consortium ownership. I will say Chelsea’s approach look so messy at first with bloated logistics but kudos to Maresca and the owners to really hitting all the right rhythms. Next season or even this January their squad could expanded even further adding more wins for Maresca.

I generally agree, but this is simply not true. Maresca has said in the press conference that the change was because Lavia was feeling a knock. In his explanation, the change is more like for like with Caicedo shifting into midfield and Gusto playing as a RB. While the change worked well, 5he intention was never for the reasons you have stated.

Spurs were a bit unlucky. You got to feel for them, they are fighting through so many injuries and their style of play doesn’t help. They need to invest big in player Ange wants. They have nothing to lose and only to gain. Even if Ange’s style of play might not work for winning the league, it still might be successful in cup competitions. Also, Maresca has been sensational for Chelsea 👏👏
I’m not so convinced this was as effective as you’re giving it credit for – Spurs still had a better xG when you remove penalties, and had a number of clear chances on goal where they underperformed that xG (Son, Sarr, Solanke all missing clear chances). I think people giving credit to Maresca are doing a bit of back justifying a win – remove the penalties and Spurs still had the better game plan (and yes you could say penalties result from Chelsea’s improvement – maybe true of Bissouma’s error but I think Sarr’s is pretty clearly just a genuine mistake from a young player)
If Chelsea win anything this season it’ll just prove that the premier league is completely broken. Plus, of course, if they win anything it’ll just get taken off them once the PL have finished with City’s 115 and get around to slaughtering Chelsea for cheating for years under RA.

Such an easy yet effective solution, wanna press us? Fine we’ll just add an extra player in buildup. In-game tactical awareness of this level is what separates the good managers from the elite ones, Amorim did sth similar vs City in the UCL going from a 5-4-1 to a 5-3-2 out of possession to prevent central progression and it changed the entire game, whereas other managers(I’d rather not mention names) would make a personnel change and hope for the best 😂

Football is a results business and not an underlying numbers business. 7 defeats at this stage is a lot. Only the 3 teams in relegation places have lost more games.
