Bro its not even that crazy ðŸ˜. They went unbeaten in league, Cup and almost in Europa league. They lost 1 match, JUST 1 MATCH, whole Season including league, cup and European competition. Sadly it was the Europa league final and so they couldn't get their treble, but Leicester focused entirely on Prem and did suffer loses. Big clubs failed that season too.
Bayern scored more points than a lot of seasons when they actually won Bundesliga, during the 23-24 season and Leverkusen still came top.
Also, the farmers league allegations quietly hide the fact that these League are still pretty competitive at the mid table and bottom table. You remove the 2 or 3 big clubs and rest of the clubs are very neck and neck .
Leverkusen Season is easily more impressive than Leicester wonder season will all due respect

One thing I will say about Serie A is that there seems to be more parity than in other European domestic leagues. Serie A distributes its TV revenue more evenly across the league compared to others.

So a mid tier team in France can pay the top team in Spain a few million dollars for the services of a 3rd string player because that player would instantly become one of the better players on the mid team which could generate money in terms of ticket sales and merch while the top level club views it as a way for the player to develop. Then the player goes right back to his original club at the end of the season 😂

Most of these guys in recent years came to Bayern on free. Biggest recent talents for Bayern came from the PL. Outdated, 15 yo critique. Dortmund buys up more players from Bundesliga rivals than Bayern does these days. Real problem is Dortmund, Leipzig and others have no ambition and would rather flip young players for cash than spend above 50 mil and really go for it
MLB does have this problem though
The major metros have a lot more money to spend, which is why you see the Dodgers, Yankees, Mets, Cubs etc paying out big in Free Agency and have large payrolls. Smaller market teams focus on developing players and scouting more. This is why the Tampa Bay Rays are good and also have a lower payroll. But eventually, they will trade all of their good players to bigger markets and restart.
The Bundesliga is absolutely fair.
bundesliga improved a lot in the last years. you could saw it in the international competition this season. bundesliga clubs – beside frankfurt – dominated for example laliga clubs. you can also look at the avg market value of a club. the avg market value of the bundesliga is higher than at the laliga despite having real madrid and barcelona with even higher market value than bayern
So people always talk about how the MLS lacks pro/rel and thats this major issue holding back not just the league but development in the US. Maybe thats true. Personally I think pay to play is the real issue but in any case… People say it’s an issue but European leagues have their own issues that are largely the result of pro/rel. For example, largely because of pro/rel and the existence of lower leagues connected to the first league, there is a giant discrepancy of the size and financial situation of teams. There is no salary cap. Now there are Premier League teams spending upwards of 500 million and more and teams spending less than 100. (Aston Villa only 75, the lowest in the league yet still made Champions League. Good for them.) While there are teams in the 3rd and 4th division (League One and League Two, have to change these confusing league names) that literally spend nothing while the average team spend less than a million a year. Salaries are correspondingly dissimilar. Yet one of those teams, within a couple seasons, could be playing Premier League ball. And it happens. Of course every year there are Championship teams moving up to the Prem. Such teams, while they get a massive infusion of revenue by moving up to the Premier League, are woefully unprepared and unable to spend the type of money they need to to be successful in the long term. And if they raise up their own youth players they soon lose them to teams with more money. There’s no parity at all. Compare that with Americans sports with a salary cap, no pro/rel, and high standards for team ownership where the teams have extreme parity. A last place team one year can win the championship the next. The worst team can beat the best team on any given day and it’s not a huge deal. Compared to European League where a Leicester City is a once in a lifetime, likely once in several lifetime’s, phenomenon. And they of course immediately lost their best players after they won the league. So in European Leagues there is a serious absence of parity. Yet so long as the system remains the same with pro/rel and no salary cap as well as players jumping from league to league in different countries (something that doesn’t happen as much in American sports and there is a different process for it) there will always be the whales and the minnows.
The fact is that all European leagues have this issue. Like people are always surprised that the organizations that rank leagues (based on ELO and proprietary stuff) always rank the MLS so high. Top twelve usually and just better than the Eredivisie. Thats because they mostly just watch the best teams from European leagues play. But the fact is there is a big drop off after the best teams and the MLS has parity all the way down. So like take the Eredivisie again. It has three really good teams that put up a fight in Champions League against the best teams in the world and everything but after that teams are much more on par with the MLS and the teams near the relegation line are worse than most MLS teams. Theres just no parity.
The Eredivisie is pretty bad with the drop off from the top three teams. To the point that most league rankings place the MLS above it. Because the MLS is very similar all the way down.
If You want to see a farmer's league come to Croatia
Perhaps the prize money for winning the league is reduced with successive wins. Or have those teams permantly promoted to a proper european league so that they can compete with each other and let other domestic teams compete and seriously shake the status quo?
So then does that mean the Gold cup is basically a farmers cup in national teams level.
They should do a maximum allowed transfer budget plus a draft system…..
