I don't think these tactics at a Champions league club that is competing on all fronts can work. Playing at this intensity 3 times a week will wear the team down especially if you don't have rotational options. Anyway, they are an incredible team

Thinking of becoming a soccer coach after completing my MBBS
Not a manager but the principle of playing the balls to the wingers in front from the back has always been there. With the ball, this principle helps create space in the middle of the field when the opposition players are dragged wide in addition to adding extra runners from midfield to overload & attack the opposition box while without the ball, as Arsene Wenger once said, even if the balls are lost there, there is a lower chance of a dangerous counterattack happening from the side than from the middle of the pitch. Just nice to watch all these top teams using the “basic” principles to great effect 😁
