How are you shocked? Australia has made the last 6 World Cups and has Reached the round of 16 two times both being eliminated in close games by the eventual Champions. The First time Italy got a penalty from a dive. There is no shock value just people not appreciating Australia as a football nation. I won some good money on this game as well.

Mike Grellas disrespect towards the Socceroos and Irankunda was embarrassing, can't believe anyone would actually pay him to comment on the WC. Biggest mistake the Turks made was to assume the game was won before a ball had been kicked. USMNT on home soil will be a much more difficult game than Turkey, but underestimate the collective spirit of the Socceroos at your own peril.
Australia have always been a sporting country who punch well above their weight. They are fanatical for sport. It’s in their blood and it shows. The underdog tag is their blessing. Watch out USA. Australia are coming for you next week!

Turkey had more possession but they weren't in control of the match they couldn't break down the defence and ended up settling for long shots on goal. Australia were more organised the entire game and had more meaningful possessions when they had them.

Our 3 Socceroo backs are 6’6”, & two x 6’4”. Türkiye’s forwards were all around 5’8”. Tall players don’t get shorter during a game! You could see the absolute frustration on the Turkish side when our Socceroos “Golden Wall” continually saw them off, especially from corners. All Türkiye’s shots at goal were mostly from well outside the box! Again, it seemed like a hit & hope game plan.
