  1. Congrats to Pepi, Robinson, Aaronson and Lletget, but watching a healthy, engaged, fired-up Christian Pulisic playing was amazing. Foul after foul (eventually hurt) he made EVERYONE else on that pitch (except maybe Najar) look like they were in a lower gear. I wonder if Mexico is worried about a USA squad full of youngsters performing like that. Combined with our veterans, wow. I just hope Berhalter keeps letting them play more direct football, and lose the bullsquat "build-from-the-back, ooooooh-look-at-our-time-of-possession" crap that has cost us the prior 2 matches. SEE THE LIGHT, Greg! Cheers to the USMNT!!!!!!!

  2. Honduras ran out of petrol in the last 20 minutes. All of those clever twists and turns keeping the ball in possession in the first half by their players may look great, but it uses up energy and the team gets nothing out of it. USA players are in better condition and are quite fast and Honduras had little in the tank left.

Also did the Mexican referee actually posses yellow cards in his pocket or were they in there just for show? Honduras players seem to be made of glass as they fell down with every single bump writhing and groaning in pain… the ref did not bother carding because those were dives

  3. I'm very happy for the win cause we definitely needed it…..This is what I got to say. Start strong! Finish strong!…..WE'VE GOT TO STOP BEING JUST A 2ND HALF TEAM!!!!! USMNT is notorious throughout history to be just that!

  4. More butt kissing praise by commentators for incompetent, lost Berhalter on making great subs at halftime. His player selection and placement continue to be incomprehensible. As a wise man said, “I don’t get credit for taking you to the hospital after punching you in the face.” Pepi’s debut was remarkable, but unfortunately he saved that fool’s job.

  5. I’m a U.S. fan but this country is failing to realize they’re not Europe. However, CONCACAF is growing and the U.S. needs to up their game. The region is growing and the only way for the U.S. to continue to dominate this region is to update their recruiting. We have no midfield and no defenders. All attackers who aren’t really a team. All alpha males who don’t know how to work with each other. Honduras dominated this game until they ran out of gas. The U.S. just did their best to weather the storm and save their energy because they knew Honduras will not keep the pace the entire game. If Honduras had a better defense they would have won this game because they’re brilliant on the counter.

    I’m impressed

  6. This one win means nothing they have to keep winning and not drop anymore points from here on out and that’s easier said than done under berhalter since he sucks and the players suck when playing under him. Since berhalther saved his job by winning this game he’ll have Jamaica, Panama, and Costa Rica in the next qualifiers in October, now if he performs terribly in any of those games and draws or loses you can basically say goodbye to the world cup just for the fact that whoever comes in is only going to have six games to try and get a spot to go to the word cup and to me that’s not enough time to get results depending on where they are in the standings it just might be to little to late so if that happens you can blame the federation and the board for hanging on to a terrible coach for that long especially when they knew he was struggling and not getting the results they were expected to get in the first three games. Who would take behalter’s spot if he were to get fired after the October games ? there are only two choices for one reason because they would have to get quick results fast so they would probably go for coaches that know the national team set up so I doubt they would go for someone new knowing they’ll only have six games to try and make it. The last six games are a little bit harder at least to when it comes to scheduling the games are very spaced out compared to the first three where they were back to back to back so whoever ends up being the coach is only going to have one or two games depending on the month to get the best out of the players. Bob Bradley is the first and only choice in the eyes of the federation not for me the federation hates klinsmann so I know he won’t get chosen. I prefer klinsmann over Bradley because I feel like with six games to spare I think klinsmann would do the better job in a must win every game situation and by the way for those who don’t know national team stats show that klinsmann is number one in must win games or under dog games.

Side note : even if berhalter stays for all the remaining games that are left and is able to get one or two wins with mostly draws and one or two loses it’s going to come down to that final 12th game and I truly believe that if they have to get a win or even a tie in a dire situation he won’t be able to do it and he’ll just botch it like Bruce Arena did and I’m going to laugh when the US doesn’t make it to the World Cup for a second straight time because this was an easily avoidable situation all they have to do is fire him right now before it’s to late regardless of this win and being in second place in the standings right now at this very moment. I wouldn’t take any country lightly that they have to face despite their own struggles because what I’ve seen so far you know how that can go if you do look down on them.

  7. Good for USA with strategic attacking but poor coach decisions for Honduras. Took out three fundamental players and left it easy for USA. USA easily could've scored more.

  8. MLS propoganda. This win papers over the terribleness of Berhalter and his MLS ideology. Honduras was so gassed we could have sent out 11 random obese Americans at the 70 minute mark and we would've won by the same score.

  9. Is 100% Berhalter correction in the second half? or Honduras debacle with their second half substitutions? Honduras completely fell apart with their substitution in the second half, the US took advantage of that.. the win gives Berthalter some Breathing room but at the end the team doesn't function well..! he is not the right man for the job..!

  10. Here's where I post the table of actual points minus expected points (expected = 3 points at home, 1 point on the road): Mexico +2, USA: 0, Panama -2, Canada -2, Honduras -3, Jamaica -4, Costa Rica -5, El Salvador -5.
