As usual. F… this referee first made the penalty from nothing. The irsh guy protected his face. And at the end he did not "notice" Ronaldo in offside at least at the moment of the last touch. And it does not matter who scored. There were hundred games where referees pronounced offsides in way less obvious situations.

Somewhere along the way, the handball in the penalty area became misinterpreted. Ball to hand or hand to ball was what it used to be. Now it is absurd that you have defenders running with their hands behind their backs. It should be if I guy intensionally tries to impede the ball. Now, its so easy to get a penalty- just shoot the ball into a guy and odds are in your favor the ball is going to hit one of his arms below the shoulder. But running and trying to defend or sliding to knock the ball free is natural defending. It has become a joke now. Refs giving away penalties that are a distortion of what natural ball play entails. I am glad C7 missed the penalty because it should have never been awarded in the first place. The guy just blast the ball into the defender and it naturally touched his arm. That's total bullshit, like so many penalties being awarded nowadays.
