  1. This was my first ever Timbers match. So wild. It had the Silvestre Shocker and the first instance of magic from Valeri. Yet it was a home draw. I hate home draws.

  2. I was at this match, what a great atmosphere. I always heard that its more fun to see a game live rather than on TV, boy were they right. I am now a committed Timbers Fan for life. RCTID!

  3. As a longtime fan of the Blazers, I'm really happy to see Portland represented by a good soccer team + great fans. So, now I need to make two stops when I eventually come over for a visit. 🙂

  4. History. You forget that the US had NASL back in the day. NASL was one of the best leagues in the world at one point. Most of th teams till exist. Portland was drawing like 30,000 + back then.

  5. true. Give it another 5 or 6 years. in its first 17 years, the nfl, mlb, nhl and nba were all very unstable, with franchises moving every year or 2. The mls is decades ahead of them.

  6. blazerMania. Alive since 1977. 814 sellout streak from 77 to 95, ending only becasue we moved to a bigger building, and then resumed for 6 more seasons until we hit the Jailblazer era. That sellout streak is the longest in american pro sports. Portland has probably te best fans of any sport in america.
