Shamrock Rovers suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bulgarian champions Ludogorets in their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round first leg. A first half brace from Pieros Sotiriou put the hosts in control before Thiago Rodrigues added a third in stoppage time. The second leg will be played in Tallaght Stadium next Tuesday, kick-off is 8pm.

Ludogorets have on every single position a better player than Shamrock. Their manager is far more experienced and better than Shamrock manager. And they have around 10 times bigger budget. I don't think this result is a shame for Shamrock. Ludogorets have the quality for UCL group stage.
