Turkey is a major country in Eastern Europe and Near-East Asia (Asia Minor). Turkey has a well developed society by Near-Eastern and Middle Eastern standards. In the Middle East Turkey is one of the industrially developed countries. By industrialized I do not mean Turkey is industrialized like the US, the UK, France, Germany, … Turkey is industrialized compared to Iraq, Iran, India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Turkey buys its passenger jets from the US (Boeing) and the EU (Airbus) because Turkey cannot build complex, modern machines. But Turkey has a decent trading system where they have purchased one of the largest National Airlines (Turkish Airway) in the Middle East. Turkey is a country where Islam is the major religion. But the Turkish government has done a good job keeping Islam and Islamic intolerance in check. Turkey's football fans can enjoy a competitive professional football league where young Turkish footballers have a chance to develop and become world class players. I am surprised that a country with 86 million people (Turkey) have never defeated a country with 382,000 people (Iceland) in international football competition until today. It was an exciting game to watch. Iceland was in control for most of the game but Turkey had more talented players and showed who was the best team on the field. Can Iceland build an enclosed stadium with an indoor football pitch? I think Icelanders can build an indoor stadium so the extreme cold cannot cancel a football match.
