Something I loved about this match as a Crew fan was that Justin Meram at times received some boos from our crowd, but the moment he was subbed off for Charlotte, the entire stadium stood up and sent him to the bench with a round of applause and plenty of cheers.
Only ex-Crew footballer I can think of who was booed immensely was Brian McBride when he went to Chicago in the late 2000βs, and even then, McBride is still a folk lore hero here in Columbus.
So close to just completely throwing away all that hard work with the goals with the worst mistakes you can ever make on defense.

Different players making same mistakes as him. But no one cares or notices because we scored more goals this game. Imagine not scoring that 4th goal and instead giving up a tie at home 3-3 because offense couldn't bale out the defense.
