Lol rivalries in MLS are rated G. Go check out the rivalries in Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Spain, England, Netherlands, even in Mexico. You’ll see death, destruction of property, huge fights, flares thrown. MLS needs history to evolve into the chaos that other football nations experience, and I really would love to see something similar lol
"I don't know where else you see that in sports" – true, you don't usually see football teams (yes, it's football) moving cities or states. They are usually deep rooted in their communities and that's what creates commitment and strong support. That and the relegation/promotion factor. I hope MLS can achieve both.

Americans are obsessed with rivalries. Everyone has to have a rival lol. That's not how it goes. There's maybe 3 rivalries in the mls (torontoVmontreal, portlandVsounders, dcVnewyork). All the other ones are forced rivalries.
