There have always been fall feasts, but thanksgiving wasn't really celebrated in the United States until Abraham Lincoln made it a holiday in 1863 to help unite Americans.
I love when Americans get a reminder that the rest of the world just doesn't care about your stuff
It always sounds like she is a big sister making sure her little brother’s behave
Who cares about Thanksgiving???
It's something about how the American tribes were generous and welcoming to the settlers before they got decimated by them.
How in gods name do you have an American husband and not know what thanksgiving is?…..
Like seriously has she made any attempt at all to understand her partners culture 😭
Its origins comes from brutal occupation and genocide of the American Natives.
These guys dont realize how blessed they are and its sad jamie actually a fkn bot and i adore football but daym …. what am i thankfull for he said
Hard to talk the truth about history because of conflict of interest
It’s colonizer day, that’s what we celebrate I the US
Thanking for taking the natives land
Asking europeans about an exclusively USA holiday and being angry is peak american culture.
It goes back to 1621, it’s a day for family friends and gratitude that was shared between English colonists and the Wamponoag people. The celebrations often involve a large meal , charitable acts and reflection on personal and community blessings.
It commemorates the European settlers setting foot on America and being greeted by the Natives. They all got along very nicely! Absolutely no genocides whatsoever
Its a pilgrim fantasy, a myth that they use to bury in their minds the genocide they committed. Settler colonizer cognitive dissonance.
Not knowing about Thanksgiving doesn't make someone not educated.
We're not all Americans.
And the real story behind that celebration is nothing to thank for.
Do they ever talk about football?
It's 🇺🇸! That's all you need to know .
Celebrating a holocaust of the natives, right?
It's commemorating the generosity of the indigenous Americans who opened they're doors to the pilgrims(White Americans) who then turned around and took them all out(💀). What a way to thank them.
Nobody cares about the american thanksgiving.
It’s the day to commemorate the day that the indigenous people got scammed
Western people is so unthankful till they need a day to remind them to be thankful which is thanksgiving hahahahahhaah
Jamie's the best 😂
Dear Europe….. Thanksgiving is a holiday that's celebrated by Americans commemorating the day when the pilgrims and the indigenous people broke bread and joined together and had dinner to only show unity. So it's understandable that Europeans do not know what this holiday really means.
Its also the start of killing Native Americans. Genocide
It's a celebration of the Americans using the natives for food and resources to help the yanks survive the winter and then they immediately starting slaughtering the natives once they were no longer useful. The Americans like to pretend it's all sweetness and nice though. Like all things Americans say and do it's a lie and grossly glossed over to make the yanks look like they didn't literally try to wipe all the native Americans out. That's called genocide. Remember people if the Americans do it then it's ok but if anyone else does it then it's evil!
Man theyll get away with it but they all know its linked to one of the worst genocides committed in human history!
Micah is thankful for David Beckham's "sticky stuff"
Thanksgiving celebrates when Europeans decided to become Americans…
It’s the day Europeans invited native Americans to a party for them drunk and killed them all. Which started the English invasion (later becoming what we now know today as USA)
The darker origins of Thanksgiving:
Some early colonial “Thanksgiving” days weren’t about harvest at all, but about celebrating victories after killing large numbers of Indigenous people.
The most cited example is the Mystic Massacre in 1637, when 400–700 Pequot people were killed and the colonists declared a Thanksgiving day for their “victory.”
Similar thanksgiving days were held after King Philip’s War in 1676, when the Wampanoag population was devastated.
Embarrassing tbh, celebrating something you have no idea about snd shouldn't be using as a holiday.
It’s literally not a big deal. Thanksgiving is nice but it’s really just an excuse to eat with friends and family.
It’s when Europeans where invited to America by the natives Americans before deciding to stay on a permanent basis 😂
Oh boy. Americans get roasted in videos that are not even about them. Can’t imagine what scrolling in these comments is gonna be like.
A bit more knowledge… not every country in America celebrates Thanksgiving Day… it's only 1 country, the United States OF America.
Hahahaha isn’t Kate married to an American?
Let's be honest here
Thanksgiving when English settlers went to a land of Wampanoag people
Ate their food and than took the land and now it's called America
the killing of native americans
Happy Thanksgiving from America!
Lol I learnt what Thanksgiving was from watching The Simpsons
Shame
Henry ain't thankful for anything… just singing away and wants no part of this 😂😂😂
Jamie is such a plonker 🙄
No redeeming features 🙄
