Okay, as a European. I am very surprised how much hate now the US gets in football considering what they have done. Semi finals of Copa America defeating Argentina 3-0 convincingly and barely losing to Brazil? At this point I believe it's just an absolute bias against them.
Where is Episode 5 @vicetv?
The salary cap is like communism, yes everyone is the equal… equally broke.
Where is episode 5?
Who's Here Wednesday June 3rd looking for Episode 5 but having to watch this again in anticipation 🤤🥵 the World Cup Thirst is Real
The Portugal game was three to two. Not three nil. Americans. We love to exaggerate. It's why I'm more proud of being Portuguese than American. The entitlement
Great series. Lapping it up. Lifelong soccer fan here. One side note: I kinda prefer the 35 yard run up over PKs. Less guesswork, more agility. Am I nuts?
10:42 those kits are classic.. LA Galaxy 💯
I wish they could stop saying “the game of soccer”
I mean it’s a great documentary, but if the documentary is called “Soccer’s American Dream”, how can you not even mention the women’s team once?
How in gods name did you get the final score of one of the U.S' most important wins wrong?
man i still remember the '02 run. germany that year were ass. Had the US got that penalty, who knows what could've happened. It was a VERY even game
But unlike Pele, Beckham wasn't as committed to helping the game in America which is why he played in Italy to help his spot on the national team.
Never forget the look in Figo's face. What kind of Fresh hell is this?
I predicted they victory over Portagual the night before.
Don Garber has experience trying to bring American football to Europe. Gave European kids American footballs and they tried to play soccer with them.
How did the Rowdies not get a franchise?
Lamar Hunt has always supported soccer. he owned the Dallas Tornado. The us open cup is named for him.
Steve Sampson was a distaster in The 98 World Cup.
That’s insane to put Landon Donovan behind Mia Hamm and Ted Lasso
16:55 the 1998 World Cup did get me first interested in the English Premier League. Not MLS. In fall of 1998 many of the regional sports channels would run the Fox Sports NET weekly Premier League 2 hour highlight show and I got hooked there when I did want to follow more soccer post 1998 world cup
I think he was. Eddie Lewis is another one that comes to mind.
Nfl person running a MLS loll 😂
U.S. will never be a good team if they dont successful start teaching youth.
33:19 the US won 3-2, not 3-0 against Portugal. There are too many factual inconsistencies in this report.
Vice, this production by an American company about American soccer encompasses all that which is wrong about the American game.
22:42 those were the standings after each team had played two games, not 3 (meaning the end of the group stage).
Then C. Blanco outplays Beckham in the all star game lol
Crazy that 2002 was our peak as an international side. The best we've done at a WC since then is not get embarrassed (and even that's been far from guaranteed)
Nice series, but stop lying about the results from the 2002 World Cup. The first game was 3-2 against Portugal, not 3-0. The second was a 1-1 draw against South Korea, and we lost the last group game 1-3 to Poland (you guys skipped straight to the round of 16 against Mexico).
First Victory In South America Since 1950 Not 1930
i still go to pizza perfect
dang harkes smh
Seeing the old Summers Restaurant in Arlington, VA making an appearance in this series made me smile. I miss watching World Cup matches at that place 😭
The US would be better if they had Freddy Adu
Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. Today is the day of salvation.
Part 5 gonna be 🔥🔥🔥
This series is gonna go a lot of US soccer
Dope series reminds me of Narcos
Great job Vice with this series 👍
This series is great. Makes me want to attend the USA vs Paraguay game. Oh wait my bank account is telling me I can’t afford to take my family.
It was 3-2 USA vs Portugal, not 3-0… what an error. And just glossing over USA vs Mexico for a few seconds?? A WC knockout win 2-0 against our arch rivals to get into the quarter finals is massive and deserving of full coverage and highlights!!
Steamrolled Mexico in the round of 16 in 2002?? Not sure about that…there was also blatant handball in that game not called against the US. But they did play well against Germany….and yeah I get this is a USMNT doc so….checks out
I was lucky enough to be in Suwon for the Portugal game. Will never forget that game.
this is a good series but some things are missing. 1995 copa america usa lost a match to bolivia in regular phase.match with mexico was tied to zero and won in penalties. for 3rd place usa lost 3 to 1 to colombia.
another greatt episode
MLS is still getting spanked by Liga MX
Did she say LD10 is under Ted Lasso and Mia Ham? She is insane.
34:34 yeah that's not exactly steamrolling
Bunch of clowns
