"Liam Ridgewell slices through"? Well there's a phrase I never thought I'd see. The only thing he ever "sliced through" on match days when he played for Birmingham was a sausage sandwich at breakfast!
Sorry America, but this really does just show the true poor standard of the MLS. How anyone can let this heap of shit run (I say run, but Ridgewells top speed is no more than the average jog) from the half way line, past a couple players into the box and just let him slot one past the keeper is just beyond me. I don't think he was ever able to run past a single person during his entire Albion career, yet in the MLS the level of defending makes him look like Messi on the ball… No idea how people can say the MLS is improving rapidly. Improving compared to what? Any league that makes this plank look good is clearly not improving at all. The only reason it's attracting bigger names is because its a nice easy pay day for older players before they retire. No one actually goes there for the level of football, and it will probably be a very long time before they do.
