Purslow has a lot of experience in the game. He has stayed away from the cameras so its a surprise to see him give an interview but he knows the fans will be pleased with developments and so he's seized the moment, the Villa board have done well.

I wanted Gerrard at spurs before that useless Nuno, I also wanted coutinho to come to spurs. Villa have done very well. Gerrard gets that team desire drilled in.

Coutinho fair enough…..but wtf has Digne won lol (please don't tell me about technicality trophies at Barca & PSG because he hardly played)
I saw his stats compared to Matt Targett and there wasn't much in it at all, Digne averages 1 cross more a game and 0.25 more chances created (an additional 1 every 4 games)
In fairness, those small margins all over the pitch may lift Villa several positions up the league.
I think Coutinho and Suarez would both be successful at Villa, but personally I believe Digne will be a flop once the novelty wears off.
Time will tell 🤔

Good CEO. Loved the way he talked – clear and precise.
It was refreshingly honest of him to admit that they wouldn't have got Countinho without Gerrard, but very sensibly took credit for bringing in Gerrard to make those signings happen.
