GERRARD, TORRES, ALONSO: LIVERPOOL 4-0 REAL MADRID, 2008/09 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Despite an aggregate haul of 17 Champions League titles, this Saturday’s final will be only the sixth time Real Madrid and Liverpool have met in a competitive fixture.

One of their most memorable matches came in the Round of 16 of the 2008/09 season, Liverpool humbling Madrid 4-0 at Anfield thanks to Gerrard, Torres and Dossena goals.

  2. Madrid got battered 4-0 at Anfield in 2009 and Ancelottis AC Milan lost at Istanbul in 2005 and they both took it very personally, because they've been a constant thorn in our side ever since lol

  3. It would have been great if Rafael Benitez is Liverpool FC Coach whenever we play Real Madrid….Klopp has no solution to beat Real Madrid, this was since his Dortmund days & it won't change. Just too bad.

  4. Im from the futur ! And this is the last win of liverpool against real madrid ! If only they new what is waiting for them after that. ! 2 finals and 5-2 at anfield

  5. Really sad that English people didn't appreciate Gerrard enough simply cause he play for Liverpool and not won any EPL title. Gerrard is one of the best English footballer in his prime, and the most loyal and passionate leader in football. Many European giant club want Gerrard in their side in 2000s, and he could potentially win any big trophies and awards he want, but he choose to stay loyal for Liverpool, the club he love with all his heart. I think English people should put some respect on Gerrard name, he is the real figure of INSPIRATION in world of FOOTBALL that is rare to find.
