  1. The women's game in Europe is light years ahead of everyone else. Competitive teams, filled stadiums, passionate supporters, excellent television coverage. This is an excellent tournament.

  2. That penalty brings to mind Luka doncic Trae Young Jalen brunson SGA James harden SMH … That was NBA level foul baiting🀒. The defender didn't even know she was there and how could she trip her and and she fall that way. if she was trying to get the ball the defender possibly could have run her over and she would have fallen towards the endline… Sorry to talk NBA in a soccer chat, I'm AmericanπŸ˜‚

  3. Back in the day, although not really that long ago, the rules were explicitly that football was a contact sport, and that contact between players was allowed, as long as it was not excessive. Two players fighting for the ball were allowed to touch each other. It was only when you knocked someone other, or tripped them, or held onto them, or something like that that it became a foul. Incidental contact just wasn't punished. And I don't think that they have officially changed this. But clearly in the last few years, any contact whatsoever in the penalty area is called, and consequently we now have a gazillion penalties called.

In this case here, we had two players running side by side, and one of them ever so slightly brushed the unweighted foot of the other, in the same direction that the foot was already moving. In real life, this wouldn't even have broken her stride. This wasn't a dive, in the sense that yes she actually was touched. But she deliberately fell down. Had she not been in the penalty area, she would have just kept on running. Really, it's not difficult to force another player to run into you like this. Just stick your leg out and slow down. I don't really blame the players for doing this, because this is how the refs call the games nowadays, and you can get a cheap goal by tangling yourself with a defender. (Although sometimes this goes terribly wrong for you, as we saw in the PSG-Bayern game). But it really hurts the game.

To me the call on the disallowed German goal seemed correct. It looked like Number 9, who was very clearly in an offside position, deflected the shot. It may have been involuntary, and a marginal deflection, but those are the offside rules. (Marginal contact with the ball is very different from marginal contact with another player).

  4. Penalty should never have been given, and Germany's second goal was just bad luck and laziness by Danmark. Seems like Danmark just ran out of gas in the second half and needed their nap.

  5. When in doubt "lame it out" I guess. That penalty for Germany was very slight.

Tough break for Denmark though. Germany's touted offense needs to step up if they plan to make a deep run.

  6. 2:33. That's a MAN baby! The German Goalkeeper is a dude. If he didn't take his estrogen this morning, he probably would've blocked that kick.

C'mon FIFA! This is the "Women's Euros" not the "Trans Euros". Denmark should've received five goals at the start for Germany playing men on their team.

  7. germany got a raw deal on like the first 3 borderline calls and yet people are complaining about the 1 or 2 calls later that go their way lol

  8. I had no dog in this fight, but I hate when players just stick a leg in front and then go down easy in the box to get a penalty. Shouldn't be called and perhaps even a yellow when it is clear and obvious. That won the match for Germany.

  9. Based off the last two games, Germany really need to do some work on heading practice. They could have had like 4 extra goals from the last two games from headers in front of the net.

  10. Denmark deserved to get something out of this game. I don't agree with the penalty and an absolute gift of a second goal. Unfortunate.

  11. The offside calls in the Euros, do not make sense. Seen a few goals removed due to some people leaning too much or because a player is ahead of the defense, but NOT involved in the shot. Tough to explain that to the novice American fan!

  12. Bad ref decisions. Both players were fighting for the ball. Not a clear penalty. I guess they wanted Germany to win. More revenue and high power house.
