I wouldn't rate Rio that highly. Good on the ball but poor in the air for his height. Not one for the physical battles too. Needs a Vidic (MU) or Terry (England) next to him.

In his era I think he's spot on. If we were looking over a longer period then there would be 2 ahead of Stam. One I never saw as he died before I was even born Duncan Edwards and the other is the best centre half I saw play for United Paul McGrath.
