In the WC England stuck to a 3-5-2 and had no plan B. We look stronger in a 4-3-3 going forward but i hope Southgate learns to be flexible when changes are needed. TAA looks like he could do Oxlade's job in midfield if needed, AWB would be awesome at the back in a 3-4-3, and Foden or RLC could both excel in a no.10 role. Kalvin Phillips and Reece James could also add solidity to a midfield against the very best teams, freeing up the front 3 to play on the counter. Southgate is ruling out players like Conor Coady because he plays in a back 3 and Grealish (because he is 'competing with Sterling/Rashford'), which just shows he hasn't learnt to consider different systems when a game needs changing.
