  1. he's almost there but not quite there yet. Trust me Busquets deals with pressures just like spreading butter on his breakfast toast. The La Masia's greatest midfield trio, Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta were immune to pressing. Almost all Spanish midfielder from their era such as Xabi Alonso, Javi Martinez, Santi Cazorla, Alcantara, Fabregas, David Silva, and Juan Mata were immune to pressing during their time. It was really frustrating back in the good old days as a madridista. The moment xavi and iniesta retired from fcb we all felt 'happy' before they brought in Pedri, De Jong and Gavi which almost the perfect reincarnation of fcb's greatest trio. hopefully they wouldn't bring in Alcantara back.

  2. Everyone is talking about pressing Busquets which is obviously a fools dream, but he also explicitly stated deny the ball from him which is a valid strategy in suppressing his influence if he doesn’t get the ball in the first place and isn’t as quick as he used to be to avoid the deny

  3. With all due respect, nobody in the MLS is capable of stopping Busquets. They could try, because he's getting older but he is still Sergio Busquets 😂

  4. Lmao 😅 I’m dead! This guy seriously told everyone to pressure Busquests. If that plan worked, then Busquests wouldn’t be the legend he is today. The man is unpressable. Good luck with that. I’m guessing top European clubs didn’t try that before.

  5. This is why I never watch Americans analyze football because which coach in their right senses will actually go into a match against busquets with intention to press him. Like these guys just come out here and talk nonsense the whole time you will think it’s the first time they are watching busquets play

  6. Rule no.1 when you are playing against busquets:
Don't press busquets, because he'll roll u up like he rolls his sleeves. The only way u stop him is by blocking his passing lane and pray to God.

  7. I agree, you have to give messi to much to do. Which means stopping the players around him, because we all know you're not stopping him.

  8. I think it's best to cover Busquets' teammates and passing lines to contain the team. If you press Busquets, youre leaving unmarked teammates and it's more likely he'll see them and pass successfully than you actually stealing the ball from him.

The most successful teams at defending against Barça or Spain always were the ones that closed their defense very tightly and gave no space.

  9. 🇧🇷try to press Busquets is like drying an ice block with a paper towel! The guy is world class and does it effortlessly! In Brazil we say that this is the type of guy who plays in a suit! 😎
