It's absolute nonsense that Argentina was pushed to the final. They won all their games, sometimes being pushed to the final minutes of the games or extra time. In the final, they used the strategy that got them there, but unfortunately this time Spain defended with the ball and they also got a red card. Regardless of Spain defending with the ball but Argentina was in the game from 1st minute to 120. If they scored in the last 10 minutes of extra time, they would have either scored the 2nd or won via penalties. Most people are influenced by their love for Ronaldo, and Messi not winning a second world cup becomes an achievement to them. The disallowed goal of Egypt, also happened to Bafana vs Nigeria, a 2nd Nigeria goal was disallowed because of a foul. Bafana went from 2 nil down to equalising. It was not controversial because ultimately Nigeria won on penalties. But Argentina's fault was to outscore Egypt
You people of football some time I don't understand you with the claims of understanding the game… You choose moments when they fav you. Argentina on this WC were defending champions and the approach was not going to be the same as how they won it in2022. The defensive approach worked until final 2nd half of ET and like it or not they were one man down. They were not going to compromise the rest of the plan just to please you all. Spain is always lucky in the world cup finals because even in 2010 final against Netherlands, instead of playing good football Netherlands decided not to play be rough and so on and so forth which is the same thing Argentina did. Nkuluks, I had predicted long before the World Cup started that Spain were the favourites to win it. Before R32 played, I also hypothesized that Spain would win over Argentina in the final. But Argentina does not play negative football, watch all their games in the group stages and in the KO rounds, they were offensive against very resilient teams. Theu won most of the games from the bench. However, in the Final, Spain overwhelmed them and they could not play. The same way Spain outplayed France. And the narrative that, Argentina was pushed to the finals is just bullocks: that team played its way to the Final and the likes of Egypt & Switzerland could not contain them.

Let me start by expressing my relief that this diabolical tournament is over. Gianni Infantino has been a disaster…totally anti football and canibalizing the sport.
