Thank you, I was getting ready to dismiss this video until you guys broke down varrying opinions and actually gave some pushback to who should get a trophy and that these trophies shouldn't dictate who the best player of the season was especially when you have a player like Salah or Raphinha who were absolutely extraordinary last season and were a complete cut above the rest of the attackers yet still not really get the respect they deserved. There are some people that just wanna blow up certain players without taking all aspects into account. Some people that only see stats and some people that only see the hype and the eye test and nothing else and those who don't look at the season as a whole and only focus on a small selection of performances.
How are we going to explain in our children's that yamal is the best player alive, mbappe is the best striker, raphinha is the most prolific player but we give dembele the award?

Why is the Ballon Dor and these FIFA awards placed in such an odd place? Why not have them at the end of the season so they get appreciated more? In the middle of the season people are more focused elsewhere with their own teams with the next game around the corner.

I think you have to understand that what Dembele did for PSG in the 24/25 season goes beyond than just being a top scorer. His pressing, defending, leading the front line, his contributions to the big plays including in the final and showing up in BIG MOMENTS were significant. He became a leader figure on and off the field – what others before him could not do. Putting him against the players that leading the charts this season with goals – does not justify. He was the best and in FORM and impactful player last year. This why PSG won their first Champions League and there is no debate.
