  1. Rob Stone and Lalas are the biggest buffoons working in the industry. It’s mute button at least, and/or desperate lunge for the remote to change the channel when they come on. Complete idiots.

  2. Alexi, I love your State of the Union podcasts. I have a quick note for you about redheaded people and Ms. Vine from Australia. Redheaded people make approximately 1.5 % of humanity. We are, by far, the most exclusive group of humans. Queen Elizabeth the First was a redheaded, lovely woman. President Thomas Jefferson was a redheaded man. In addition, among us the rarest are the redheaded people with blue eyes, like Ms. Vine, who score the last penalty kick yesterday. Well, that’s all. Best to you always and wish you continued success in your State of the Union podcasts.

  3. I'm not sure I agree that France were the better of the two sides. You could cite the possession advantage France had, but I would argue that this was at least in part a design component by Australia for their counters. When you break down the quality chances in the whole match, I'd say Australia's chances were better, or at least as good as what France brought to the table. Heck, one of them needed an epic defensive save by De Almeida to keep it from going in. If you are judging this based on the play in extra time alone, I would concede that France were stronger in that section of the match.

  4. That mistake by the Colombian GK on England tying goal was terrible. I cringed especially because they were winning. Game changer for sure but she’s not to take full blame for the loss, the entire team is at fault and couldn’t get the job done. Congrats England! Hoping to see them 🇦🇺 win it all, now! Let’s go Matilda’s!

  5. 6:33 I know this is tempting to say (that France is better), but for this game I don’t agree. They were deadlocked for most of the game, and just looking at the finesse and power of each of their penalties, Australia was the better team today. Even the penalties that they should have missed, they made because of the way they shot the ball. France even had a do-over and missed both!
