  1. My observations from today.

Salzburg looked pretty decent. Played better than Lokomotiv, unfortunate not to get all three points. Outstanding strike from Szoboszlai.

Lokomotiv Moscow were decent, fortunate to force a draw against Salzburg despite having less chances.

Real Madrid were dreadful. Or at least in the first half. In the first half, they were just terrible, allowing Shakhtar 3 at home. In the second half, they dominated, and even with a fantastic modric strike, were unfortunate to draw level.

Shakhtar were brilliant. Deadly on the counter attack. Great pace, and outstanding performance to beat Real Madrid away from home.

Ajax were good. Fairly even with Liverpool, unfortunate to allow the own goal. They deserved the point.

Liverpool were meh. For the club that ran away with the premier league last season, they should have done better. Fabinho did really well at center back though.

Midtjylland didn’t really stand a chance. They are happy to even have made it to the UCL. Outplayed by Atalanta.

Atalanta proved why they are one of the most underrated sides in europe. Fantastic performance, four goals. Great stuff.

Manchester City were decent. They need to step up if they want to have a chance at making the final, let alone the semis. While they won, and while they have injuries, it was not an ultra-convincing performance by them.

Porto weren’t great. They lost, although to be honest, they should be able to qualify for the knockout stage. Pepe played very aggressive and conceded a penalty.

Inter were good and unfortunate not to win. They dominated the match, but were unfortunate not to get all three points.

Mönchengladbach played well. Surprised me by getting a point out of the match. Good game from them.

Bayern were fantastic. Four goals is always good, but to do it against a side such as Atleti, who are known for their ultra-defensive style of play is all the more impressive. Great games from Kimmich and Coman.

Atlético Madrid should have done better. While beating Bayern, especially away from home is very difficult, losing by four is not excusable. Looked decent at the start, but then the flood gates opened. From a team that is known for defense, their defense wasn’t that great today.

Thank you! What do you think of my observations? What did you notice in the matches?
