I know that it's the rule, I just don't know if it's a great one. It's a weird situation where you're rewarding a team massively for something they had no part in bringing about, an action that wasn't taken against them. I feel like the offending player should indeed be dismissed but perhaps a substitute should be allowed. It's so rare it hardly makes a difference but that's just my thought. Massive props to Everton for getting it done anyway.

Not surprised that NBC would allow such a thing. I will never forget in 2010 when South Africa hosted the world cup. In the opening ceremony, when Alicia Keys was singing, a map of Africa was showing on the pitch, NBC did not show the map to the U.S viewer. How did I know? I happen to have been watching another international network covering the same opening ceremony that had no problem showing the map of Africa.
