EVERTON 2-0 BRIGHTON | Premier League highlights

Everton began a new era with a memorable 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion marking the first-ever competitive match at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Blues celebrated the opening of their new home – coincidentally exactly 133 years to the day since Goodison Park’s official opening – with goals in either half from Iliman Ndiaye and James Garner.

Full debutant Jack Grealish provided assists for both, first a delightful centre for Ndiaye to prod home the opener, before a perfectly-weighted lay-off for Garner soon after the half-time interval.

Jordan Pickford then denied Danny Welbeck from the penalty spot with a superb save to ensure the Toffees’ grand opening of their new waterfront stadium was a winning one – complete with a clean sheet.

  1. What a great memory, and what a way to open the new building 👏 i originally planned on doing a Stake punt on us winning it but have to admit i didnt have the gut to go through with it, that was a mistake 😅 Jack Grealish though, what a man! his performance was total class and i cant wait to see what more he can do for us 🔥
