    They should’ve drawn the pots this way given they divided the hosts into the groups they hosted.

    Pot A: The six hosts which qualified automatically (Italy, Russia, Netherlands, England, Spain and Germany)

    Pot B: The six best teams in qualifying ranking (France, Croatia, Switzerland, Poland, Ukraine and Belgium)

    Pot C: The six best teams in qualifying ranking (Czech Republic, Portugal, Turkey, Austria, Sweden and Wales)

    Pot D: The remaining teams (Denmark, Finland and the four playoff winners)

    While this draw would force Finland into Group A (because Denmark got group B and the playoff winners wouldn’t host group A) it would be a bit more balanced in not forcing teams into different groups despite not hosting which fucked over Belgium and Ukraine (Ukraine couldn’t go into Group B, which meant they were forced into C and Belgium into B)

    The tickets were totally ruined by COVID, which forced stadia to hold fractions of capacity to avoid killing off the pan-European celebration. The highest attendance of the entire tournament was 67,173, where Italy beat England 3-2 on penalties in the final following a 1-1 draw at Wembley.
