Eric Cantona on Why Amorim Said He’s Manager, Not the Coach

Ruben Amorim stood in front of cameras and made a distinction most people missed. He said he came to Manchester United to be the manager, not the coach, and then he said it again. When a man has to explain that his title should mean authority, something has already been decided without him. Cantona examines what happens when a club gives someone responsibility but refuses to give them the tools to succeed.

  1. I want to sign as a Head coach for Man Utd.. Easy task. Just play the league.. and get sacked with millions.. but i don't need such contracts.. just some cash is fine

  2. Something I've been waiting to hear for over a decade. Unfortunately our vision was restricted by curtains that came with the Glazers. There will always be a manager, but the type/quality is not what you would expect. People will show up for the pay. They don't care about reputation and respect. That's why you see nothing in the future. Cabinet will be bare, we only hold onto the past.
